You have to wonder about the different link profile Link Bait or Link Trolling leaves behind. Yeah, trolling is effective. But what about the skewed link count from trolling being stronger and the effect on the search algorithm? As Troll Bait links are mostly negative or neutral votes (technically) it’s not really fair they be considered equal in the eyes of a search engine. If a review is negative enough, perhaps a link should count as a negative vote?
It will be interesting to see how the engines will respond to Link Trolling and if (how!) to downplay it in the algo!
